Muttons, Muttons, Muttons!

Report Date: September 30, 2019

September is somewhat of a transition month but this time around it was excellent. Not only did we catch a lot of fish but we had great variety and quality fish to boot. The biggest surprise was the number and size of mutton snapper that we landed.

On our best day we caught a total of 8 muttons in about 4 hours of fishing. Five of the fish weighed between 5-14 pounds. We did release 3 fish that were right at 18” or just under. We also added two kingfish.

Another trip yielded 5 keeper muttons and no shorts. Catches like this are very encouraging since we aren’t in peak season. On our slowest day we only caught two but caught several kings and some yellowtail. It seems like everyone has been going home with some tasty fillets.

I am very optimistic about October although it usually not a busy month. We’ve got some trips in the books and will probably book a few more in the coming days.

Well, that is pretty much it for now. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube page for the latest video additions.

I am planning to Upload some new videos intended to educate as well as entertain. You can also follow the action on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Tight Lines,
